Dear Dr. Sadie,
A friend of mine tries to do everything that he
can for everyone. He won't accept that there's something he can't do to
help the people around him. Sometimes his help can make things better,
and sometimes it doesn't. He always takes it hard when his help isn't
enough. Yesterday he found a problem that was especially important and
personal for him, and he did everything that he could to fix the
problem. But it wasn't enough, and so something bad happened. Now he
blames himself for not being good enough to save everyone he meets.
What should I tell him to help him to feel better?
Yours,
Concerned Friend
